The History of Bill

Bill Sienkewicz Race Horse Trainer

William Sienkewicz Racing Stable

Upon graduating high school in 1971, Bill embarked on a path caring for ?A? circuit show horses and then into the Thoroughbred industry managing the lay-up facility at B.A. Dario Farm in Cumberland Rhode Island for Dr. Geoff Fernandez. In 1974 Bill managed Ballard Farm in Lincoln, RI for Trainer Peter Fillippi.

Deciding it was time to set up on his own, in 1976 he founded his "Land?s End Farm" on a rented property in South Dartmouth, MA. With the well-respected farm business rapidly expanding, Bill then purchased acreage adjacent to the Freetown State Forest in Assonet, MA, settled in and built a beautiful lay-up and broodmare facility and raised three wonderful children.

Over the years he handled the lay-up needs of industry greats; Ned Allard, Bill Perry, Frank Generazio, Bob Klesaris, Mike Gorham, Tom Moss and many others. Bill has been entrusted with the care of three stakes horses that ran in the Breeders? Cup races!

Taking out his trainer?s license in 1977 to train the legendary Golden Arrow, Bill trained many horses who successfully ran off the farm until deciding to move the training business to the track at Suffolk Downs in 2005, achieving ?Multiple Stakes Winning Trainer? and Second Leading Trainer status at Suffolk Downs consecutively in 2013 and 2014. He enjoyed racing on the Massachusetts Fair circuit until their demise, also working on the starting gate there and on the gate at Suffolk Downs, depending on how busy the stable was.

Bill is currently training the Delaware Park and Tampa Bay Downs circuit, which dovetail nicely, and Suffolk Downs Festival Racing. He has a truck and 4-horse trailer to transport horses to any track where horses might fit. Having won races at all the Fairs, Suffolk Downs, Rockingham Park, Narragansett Park, Atlantic City, Laurel, Pimlico, Tampa Bay Downs, Saratoga, and Delaware Park, Bill is enjoying a long and successful career in all aspects of the horse business and has no plans for retirement and will continue to enjoy the great life horse racing provides!
